Before Marcus Spanevelo's federal murder trial begins, we're taking a trip back into the Justice For Podcast vault with one of the cases that has stayed with us since the beginning—Cassie Carli. Cassie disappeared in March 2022 after meeting her ex, Marcus Spanevelo, for a child custody exchange. Days later, she was found buried in a shallow grave in Alabama, leaving behind a young daughter and a family still searching for justice.

November 13, 1999, 32-year-old Namiko Takaba was brutally murdered inside her apartment in Nagoya, Japan, while her two-year-old son remained in the home. Investigators recovered DNA, bloody footprints, and a trail of evidence that should have identified the killer—but despite those clues, the case remained unsolved for more than 26 years.

In January 1982, two young women vanished just hours apart from the small mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado. The only clue connecting their cases? A single orange sock left behind in the snow.

*June 30th, 2026*, authorities removed *16 children*, ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years old, from a home in Vinton County after executing a search warrant. Investigators say the children were found living in horrific conditions, leading to the arrests of four members of the Siders family on multiple felony child endangerment charges. As new details continue to emerge, many questions remain unanswered.
